But first, I owe you a story.
On Valentines Day Chad was out of town (again) so I decided to take my little men out to dinner. I dragged my brother, David, along for the ride to share in my misery. We went to a little Thai place near our house that we frequent. It is small and the food is good. The only complaint I can make for that particular night was that they put us in a pretty small booth for the number of people we had. I ended up being sandwiched between Blake and Kade.
So we're sitting there waiting for our food and all of a sudden Kade reaches up to my left, er, well, Sophie's vessel of food and gives it a nice squeeze. He is lucky there were several layers of fabric separating it from him or he would have gotten squirted in the eye for a stunt like that. Then he says in the loudest three year old voice possible, "Is there MILK in there?" Stunned, I shook off his paw and said, "Shhhh...don't touch me there." David eyed us from his side of the table with a "Did I just hear what I think I just heard?" look on his face.
Never one to be put off by a shush from Mom, Kade grabbed me again and repeated the question, only louder this time because, well, I did say "Shhhh", right? "MOM, you got MIIIIILLLLKK in there?" At this point all I could do to keep from dying or laughing till I cried was to affirm what he already knew to be true and try to divert his attention to the soy sauce in front of him. And in case anyone was wondering in that restaurant whether I breast or bottle feed, they can now rest easy. I doubt David will ever go to dinner with us again. I can officially say that the only things I got for V-Day (or Black Monday...as I have been referring to it in my mind) was a sweet card that Trevor made me at school and a three year old copping a feel in a crowded restaurant.
Phew. And you thought this was just gonna be about Sophie!
Now for the good stuff.
At her two month checkup on Friday Sophie weighed in at 9 lbs. 15 oz. which put her in the 40th percentile for weight. She was 21.5 inches long, putting her in the 20th percentile...she is a shorty. I wonder where she got that from?? Her head is small and barely makes it on the charts (which is kind of a relief to me since she is a girl and who would want their little girl to have a gigantic noggin?). She got three shots plus the Rotavirus vaccine that she was a big fan of because it tasted much better than the Zantac that I force down her throat twice a day for reflux.
Sophie is a little doll. No. Really. People tend to think we are holding a baby doll when we are out in public with her. I was joking (or was I?) yesterday that I am just about ready to put dark glasses on her when I take her out because she is like a little rockstar. People can't get enough of her, which I don't really mind since I think she's pretty great, but I am used to not really calling a lot of attention to myself and she definitely puts us in the limelight!

| She was not amused with our little photo session. |
She is a sweetheart, but can belt it out when she is offended or hungry. Her brothers are all very sweet to her. It is nice to be able to work on dinner or laundry and have Blake hold her if she is fussy. He is loving that he is big/old enough to pick her up and comfort her when I need him to. Sophie has gotten pretty interactive with all of us the past few weeks and it does a mother's heart good to see her grin up at one of her brothers with a toothless little look of adoration.

| Check out Mr. Sexy and his new eyewear...he might be wearing a Batman shirt here, but he is my Clark Kent. |
And lastly, her hair. Girlfriend has got some hair on her! It gets curly when wet and then dries sticking straight up. I just recently discovered that I can get it to lay down if I constantly comb it while it is drying...but who has time for that? Poor little thing generally has to live with looking like a parakeet until her next bath. The down side to all that hair? She is still a barfer, even though she's on meds, and I can't tell you how many times I have gone to pick her up to find the back of her hair plastered to her skull with barf. Her hair is not quite long enough on top to put a little clip in, but it won't be long...provided she doesn't take after her brothers and wake up one morning around the three month mark halfway to baldsville!
