Six Months of Sophie

Sophie had her six month check up this morning.  She was so smiley and happy to see her buddy Dr. Rosser (at least until the nurse gave her three shots)!

Here are her new stats, and her four month stats for comparison:

Weight:  13lbs 14 oz  (4 mos: 12 lbs 10 oz)

Weight %:  10% (4 mos: 20%)

Height:  25.5 inches (4 mos: 24 inches)

Height %:  40% (4 mos: 40%)

She is a little peanut.  We discussed the fact that her weight is falling on the growth scale and we have decided that we probably need to start supplementing her with a special formula that will thicken in her belly so that she can hopefully keep it down better.  I tried giving her a bottle of it a little while ago and she wasn't too happy with me, so this may be a frustrating few days!  My plan for now is to continue to nurse her morning and night and do formula and baby food during the day.

Time Flies

Look who tried to come and help me do the dishes this morning...

Apparently she has gotten over her irrational fear of the metal threshold and is ready to explore the world!

It really amazes me that something so small can move so fast simply by dragging herself army man style.  Sophie's pretty proud of herself too.

She has also discovered the world of little boys and their army of action figures.

So far her figure of choice is Kade's Batman.  It could be the cape or it may just be the fact that he fits in her hand so nicely.  Whatever the reason, Kade and my nephew Campbell were appalled the first time they picked him up and he was all slobbery.  Kade insisted on giving him a bath last night. 

Yesterday I spent the morning baby proofing and setting up the pack n play (aka Baby Jail...at least that is what the boys are calling it) and putting the baby swing away.  Sophie is now six months old and in her new sophisticated "older age" is no longer content to be put in it. 

The funny thing about Baby Jail is that I am not sure whether it is more to keep her in or the boys out. 

It's gonna be a long summer!

Technical Difficutlties

Is anyone else having trouble signing into Blogger?  When I go to sign in it takes me to a page that says my html doesn't exist, so in order to get on here I have to Google my blog and then hit "sign in" when it takes me to it, then the Dashboard pops up like I am already signed in. 

Uber frustrating folks! 

Anyway, just thought you might like to know that I am still here and surviving the summer with my posse.  Our air conditioner is holding on, but if I have it set to 74 it usually hits 82 on a really hot day (ummm...like everyday).  Forget about using the oven my friends.  Not gonna happen anytime soon.  I really miss chocolate chip cookies, but I have lost 3 pounds, so maybe my body doesn't. HA!
